- WHAT'S NEW IN PAYROLL CALCULATOR 1996 VERSION 6.00
- --------------------------------------------------
-
- The following is a list of enhancements and improvements which have been made
- to the Payroll Calculator (Paycalc) 1996 Version 6.00 program:
-
- ■ The Main Menu has been completely redesigned. It is now more intuitive
- and easier to use; pull-down menus and hot keys have been added.
-
- ■ The data entry forms and desktops have a crispier and sharper look.
-
- ■ The help windows have been redesigned. They are now easier to read and
- use.
-
- ■ The right mouse button is now functional. You can use it as you would use
- the Esc key; to quickly remove a window from the screen or cancel an
- operation.
-
- ■ An entire array of Hot Keys have been added. For example, you can now
- process the payroll without having to access the Main Menu.
-
- ■ The following enhancements have been made to the various Pick List
- windows that you are likely to encounter:
-
- * Faster list scrolling to allow you to quickly select an item;
- * the Home key and End key are now functional, to get you quickly to the
- top or bottom of the list;
- * support for alphanumeric keys. For example, if you are scrolling
- through a long list of printers, and you need to select an "HP Laser
- Jet" printer, simply press the "H" key on your keyboard to get there.
-
- ■ All data entry forms now display a large block cursor to allow you to
- quickly find your place.
-
- ■ You will no longer be required to perform data entry on the W-2 forms.
- All data entry required on form W-2 will now be performed at the Employee
- File Maintenance. This will make it easier to perform such data entry.
-
- ■ The Paycalc manual can now be printed from within the program.
-
- ■ Payroll processing is now more bullet proof. The 1996 program performs
- more error checking than the 1995 program. It also writes to the disk
- more often to ensure data integrity.
-
- ■ Manual entries made for the "Regular Hours/Days" now take precedence over
- the automatic payroll processing.
-
- ■ Smart Program Compilation (SPC). You would think that with all the
- enhancements made to Paycalc; the 1996 program would be larger. However,
- with our SPC technology we have managed to trim over 350K of fat from
- this year's version. This also means that the program will require less
- system resources to run.
